Tai Chi Ch'uan is a martial art, an energizing exercise, and a calming meditation. It can be done by people of all ages. It is rooted in the concepts of balance and transformation as expressed in the familiar yin/yang symbol. Tai chi reduces stress and enhances mental and physical strength and well being.
At Long Wind Tai Chi, we celebrate both the practice and the community. Our three teachers, Claudia Henrion, John Lee, and Dave Chapman have over 80 combined years of Tai Chi experience. We work together to share what we are still learning.
Claudia Henrion is a somatic psychotherapist (and a recovering mathematics professor). Dave Chapman runs Long Wind Farm and is a director of the Real Organic Project. John Lee is a sculptor and teaches art at Dartmouth College. Join us in a deep exploration of mind and body. Come together to share your time, sweat, and curiosity with others.
We hold our classes at Long Wind Farm located at 82 Wilson Road, East Thetford, Vermont. Long Wind is New England's oldest organic tomato farm. The classes are both outside on the banks of the Connecticut River or inside in our wonderful studio above the farm barn. Herons, eagles, and lynxes are close by. Both spaces are beautiful.
We have been teaching classes for 24 years at Long Wind Tai Chi and at Dartmouth College. It has been a rich history of helping people improve their wellbeing through this ancient practice. The teachers have trained with some of the most respected Tai Chi masters in the world. We bring this knowledge to Vermont.
